BYU Guard TJ Haws Enters Cougars’ Top 10 All-Time Scoring List

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – BYU men’s basketball guard TJ Haws entered the Cougars’ top 10 all-time scorers list during the team’s game against the San Francisco Dons.

Haw’s passed former Cougar great Mekeli Wesley for No. 10 on BYU’s career scoring list during the first half against San Francisco on Saturday, January 25.

With eight first half points against the Dons, Haws reached 1,741 career points during his BYU career.

Haws entered Saturday’s game with 1,733 career points and eclipsed Wesley’s 1,740 points as the Cougars took a 32-24 lead over San Francisco in the first half.

Haws and the Cougars led San Francisco 45-28 at halftime.

The guard broke BYU’s record for most consecutive games started by appearing on the floor to start the game against the Dons.

Haws has not only played but started in every game since arriving at BYU in 2016.

The guard has played for the Cougars since his freshman season in 2016. He came to BYU after starring at Lone Peak High School in Highland, Utah. During his prep career, Haws helped lead Lone Peak to a national championship.

Haws entered Saturday’s game with a career average of 14.2 points per contest on 43.8 percent shooting. He’s shot 35.7 percent from behind the arc.

The senior has career averages of 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
