TJ Haws Breaks BYU Basketball Record For Consecutive Games Started

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – BYU men’s basketball guard TJ Haws set a new record for the most consecutive games started by Cougar.
Haw set the new mark when the Cougars tipped off against the San Francisco Dons on Saturday, January 25.
The senior guard surpassed former BYU great Jeff Chatman who played for the Cougars from 1984-1988. Haws has played and started in 123 straight games for BYU. He’s been on the floor at tip-off every game of his college career.

Haws entered Saturday’s matchup having started all 21 games of the 2019-20 season. This season, he is averaging 13.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game.
The guard has played for the Cougars since his freshman season in 2016. He came to BYU after starring at Lone Peak High School in Highland, Utah. During his prep career, Haws helped lead Lone Peak to a national championship.
During his college career, Haws has averaged 14.2 points per contest on 43.8 percent shooting. He’s shot 35.7 percent from behind the arc. The senior has career averages of 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
