Tony Finau Shoots Two Under Par On First Day Of Farmers Insurance Open

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -Utah native, Tony Finau, has shot a two-under-par first round at the Farmers Insurance Open, finishing in a tie for 34th following day one, Finau sits four stroked behind leader Sebastian Cappelen.
The tournament hosted in San Diego, California, is the first PGA tournament that Tiger Woods has competed in since the conclusion of the 2019-18 season. Woods, a seven-time winner of the Insurance Open finished his first day posting a three-under, 69.
Finau started the day birdieing the par 4, 451-yard first. He stayed at one-under for two more holes before bogeying the long par 4, fourth. He was even at the turn.
Fortunately, the back nine was kind to Finau who posted three birdies and just one bogey that included a birdie on the scorable par 5, eighteenth to help build momentum heading into day two.
The Famers Insurance Open consists of two eighteen-hole golf courses, the North and South course. Finau played the South course on day one, he will play the North course on day two.
Other notables in the field include Rory Mcllroy (T-3), Bubba Watson (T-3), Jon Rahm (T-12), and Tiger Woods (T-21).
Round two for Finau will begin at 11:20 a.m. alongside Ted Potter Jr. and Dylan Frittelli. Television coverage begins at 1 p.m. on the Golf Channel.
