Social Media Reacts To Royce O’Neale Signing Extension With Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Current and former Jazz players along with others turned to social media and responded to Utah forward Royce O’Neale signing an extension with the SLC based franchise.

The Jazz announced a four-year extension with the forward on Sunday, January 19.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the contract extension gives O’Neale $36 million over four years.

Player and other prominent figures congratulated the Jazz forward on his new deal.

Utah center Rudy Gobert was one of the first people to congratulate O’Neale on his extension with the Jazz.

Jazz star Donovan Mitchell posted a photo of he and O’Neale on Instagram with a caption saying, “Love you brotha!”


Jazz forward Joe Ingles tweeted his congrats to O’Neale along with a request for a free meal.

O’Neale responded that Ingles would still have to collect the check next time they eat out.

Utah’s Georges Niang posted a congratulatory message saying “you deserve it all my good man!”

Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic posted a picture of him and O’Neale on his Instagram Story and said, “Well deserved my brother.”

Jazz and Salt Lake City Stars forward Jarrell Brantley wrote “Big Blessings” to Royce O’Neale on his Instagram Story.

Jazz and Salt Lake City Stars guard Miye Oni shared a photo of cars and wrote, “which one it gon’ be dawg?” and a congrats to Royce O’Neale on his Instagram Story.

NBA Players

Former Jazzman and current New Orleans Pelicans big man Derrick Favors reached out on Twitter and tweeted his congrats to O’Neale.

Former Jazzman and current Memphis Grizzlies forward Jae Crowder posted a photo of him and O’Neale on his Instagram Story and wrote, “proud of you bro!”

Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso also congratulated O’Neale for his deal.

Spencer Cox, the Lieutenant Governor of Utah, posted of he and his wife alongside O’Neale at a Utah State football game and said, “So happy for Royce O’Neale. He is absolutely one of the good guys and deserves every penny. The Utah Jazz are really good, and he’s a big reason why.”

O’Neale alum and former team, the Baylor Bears, tweeted about their happiness for O’Neale and his new extension.

O’Neale’s former coach and Baylor’s head coach Scott Drew congratulated his former player on the new deal saying, “You have always been about the right things and glad to see all your hard work pay off.”
