PROVO, Utah – During halftime of BYU and the University of San Diego basketball game at the Marriott Center on Thursday evening, BYU, in conjunction with Pritchétt Bridal decided to go, “very Utah County.”
Pritchétt Bridal, a local Orem bridal shop, sponsored the half time event that involved two Brides tossing bouquets over their head from the free-throw line with the hope that the bouquet would go through the basket.
The bride that tossed the most bouquets into the basket over a one minute timed period received $1,000 credit to Pritchétt Bridal while the second place bride received $500 credit. Their respective fiancees were on the court to cheer them on.

The brides were selected via a promotional campaign on the BYU Cougars Instagram. The dresses worn were selected by Pritchétt Bridal and will not be the dresses these soon to be brides wear on their big day.
Both brides are expected to tie the knot this Spring and now that they know how much credit they have towards Pritchétt Bridal, they are expected to start shopping for their dresses within the next week, according to a spokesperson from Pritchétt Bridal.
Fortunately, for future BYU brides that are also hoping to receive a discount on bridal dresses, Pritchétt Bridal will be doing something similar at a future BYU Men’s Basketball game as well as at the upcoming BYU Men’s Volleyball game against Stanford.
This was not the first time Pritchétt Bridal has done something at a BYU sporting event. During halftime of the BYU vs. Boise State football game in 2019, they conducted a relay race in which future brides punted, passed and kicked footballs down the field in a bridal dress.
