NEW ORLEANS, La. – Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles scored over his former teammate and New Orleans Pelicans forward Derrick Favors after tricking the big man with a fake pass.
Ingles and the Jazz played against Favors and the Pelicans at Smoothie King Center on Thursday, January 16.
The Jazzman drove towards the basketball and acted as if he were about to throw a pass across the lane to another Utah player to draw push Favors’ away from the hoop. After creating some space with the move, Ingles shot the ball high off the glass and it fell through the cylinder for two points.
Ingles’ field goal gave the Jazz an 18-16 advantage with 5:33 left in the first quarter of the game.
