Gobert Throws Down Three Big Dunks To Open Game Against Hornets

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz center Rudy Gobert threw down three dunks including an alley-oop from Donovan Mitchell to start Utah’s game with the Charlotte Hornets.
Mitchell lobbed the basketball up to Gobert during the opening minutes of the game between the Hornets and Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Friday, January 10.
Gobert snagged a high pass from Mitchell and threw the ball through the cylinder for the first made basket by the Jazz against the Hornets. Utah took a 2-0 lead over Charlotte on Gobert’s slam only 54 seconds into the game.

A couple of minutes after the alley-oop, Mitchell fed the ball down the paint to a wide-open Gobert who slammed the ball for his second dunk of the first quarter.

Gobert wasn’t done dunking the ball and threw down another jam before the first quarter ended.
The Stifle Tower played the whole quarter and shot 4-6 on field goals for 9 points.
Gobzilla pulled down 7 rebounds, dished out 2 assists, and swatted the ball for 2 blocks.

The Jazz dominated the Hornets during the first 12 minutes of play and took a 29-13 into the second quarter.
Bojan Bogdanovic led the Jazz with 11 points on 4-5 field goals including 3-4 from three-point range. He added 2 rebounds and 3 assists while playing the entire opening quarter.
Mitchell recorded 2 assists in 5 minutes of play.
Miles Bridges had 5 points on 2-3 field goals to carry the Hornets.
