Royals Trade Stengel To Houston Dash For Draft Compensation

HERRIMAN, Utah – Utah Royals FC traded forward Katie Stengel to the Houston Dash in exchange for draft compensation.
The Royals acquired two draft picks from the Dash in exchange for Stengel in a transaction that took place on Wednesday, January 8.
Utah received a second-round pick in the 2020 NWSL College Draft and Houston’s 2020 second-round pick for Stengel and the Royals’ 2020 third-round pick.

“Thank you to Stengel for the role she played for us these past two years,” said Royals General Manager Stephanie Lee. “With this pick, we look forward to growing our youth talent in this upcoming draft.”
During her time the Utah, Stengel appeared in 47 matches over two seasons. She scored eight goals and posted one assist in a Royals uniform.
Utah owns the picks 12 and 31 in the 2020 NWSL College Draft. The draft occurs on January 16 in Baltimore, Maryland.
