John’s 24 Points Not Enough In Wildcats’ Loss To Northern Arizona

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Weber State Wildcats couldn’t get past the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks as they fell 72-64 in their third Big Sky game of the season.
Cody John scored a game-high 24 points, along with 2 rebounds and 3 assists, while shooting 9-16 from the field and 3-8 from the three point line. Jerrick Harding is still nursing his injured ankle but had 6 points in 26 minutes.
Michal Kozak chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. He and John were the only Weber State players to reach double figures in scoring.

The Wildcats trailed by six points at the half, being outscored by Northern Arizona, 36-30. They trimmed the deficit in the second half but was still outscored 36-34 in the second half. As a team, Weber State went 24-52 from the field for 46 percent, 8-26 from beyond the arc for 30 percent and 8-9 from the free throw line.
Northern Arizona had four players reach double figures in scoring, led by Brooks DeBisschop with 18 points, Cameron Satterwhite added 15 points, Nik Mains chipped in 13 and Cameron Shelton posted 11 points and 8 rebounds.
The Lumberjacks shot 57 percent from the field, 9-16 for 56 percent from the perimeter and 7-9 from the charity stripe. They out-rebounded Weber State 31-21 and had 21 bench points.
The Wildcats dropped their overall record to 5-9 and 1-2 in Big Sky Conference play. They will return to action on Thursday when they face Northern Colorado at the Dee Events Center. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on Eleven Sports and Pluto TV channel 535.
