SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – With the 2019 season behind them, Gary Andersen’s Aggies (and their fans) are already looking ahead to next season.

They will be without quarterback Jordan Love and running back Gerold Bright. The quarterback battle at Utah State is something to watch for at fall camp.

This season didn’t end the way Aggie fans would have hoped with a loss to Kent State in the Frisco Bowl but it will be Andersen’s second year back with the Aggies and things will be looking up.

Washington State Cougars

Mike Leach and his high flying offense visit Maverick Stadium in Logan, Utah for the first game of the 2020-21 season. Not only will this be a fun game for Aggies fans but Utah fans can tune in as well for a look at their Pac-12 competition.

The Cougars will have a new quarterback after Anthony Gordon graduated. Cammon Cooper of out Lehi high school could win the starting job as a sophomore but he has some competition.

Washington State finished the 2019 season with a record of 6-7 and a loss in their bowl game against Air Force, who plays the Aggies later in the season.

Southern Utah Thunderbirds

In 2019 the Thunderbirds went 3-9 beating Stephen F. Austin, Idaho State and Northern Arizona. Southern Utah will be traveling North to play the Aggies in Logan.

The T-birds will have a new offensive and defensive coordinator.

Washington Huskies

Another Pac-12  opponent, but this time on the road to Seattle Washington to take on the Huskies in Husky Stadium.

Washington is without two big names on the team – head coach Chris Petersen and quarterback Jacob Eason. Petersen announced his resignation after the conclusion of the 2019 regular season. Eason recently declared for the NFL Draft.

BYU Cougars

This season Utah State lost to BYU in Logan. In 2020 the Aggies will travel to Provo hoping to bring back the old wagon wheel. BYU retains most of their team, including quarterback Zach Wilson who was injured for this season’s game.

This in-state rivalry will be a fun way for the Aggies to close out non-conference play.

Boise State Broncos

The reigning Mountain West Champions invite the Aggies to Boise. This season the Broncos beat the Aggies 56-21 in Logan.

The Broncos went 12-2 in 2019 and lost in the Vegas Bowl to Washington. Next season looks to be another strong one for the Broncos.

Colorado State Rams

Utah State travels to Fort Collins Colorado to take on the Rams at Canvas Stadium.

The Rams lost their starting quarterback to the transfer portal after the 2019 season.

In 2019, Colorado State went 4-8.

Nevada Wolf Pack

The Aggies will travel to Reno for their game against the Wolf Pack. In 2019, the Wolf Pack went 7-5.

Nevada is preparing for their January 3 matchup against Ohio in the Idaho Potato Bowl.

Utah State beat Nevada in 2019 36-10 in Logan.

Air Force Falcons

Air Force looked good during the 2019 regular season and finished it off with a bowl game win against Washington State in the Cheez-It Bowl.

Air Force is always a strong team and 2020 will be no exception when they travel to Logan to take on the Aggies.

In 2019, the Falcons went 11-2 and beat Utah State with a score of 31-7.

Fresno State Bulldogs

In 2019 the Bulldogs went 4-8. The Aggies handed them a 43-24 loss in Fresno.

Jeff Tedford, head coach of the Bulldogs, stepped down following the 2019 season citing health reasons.

The Bulldogs travel to Logan for the 2020 matchup.

New Mexico Lobos

New Mexico went 2-10 during the 2019 season and finally parted ways with their head coach.

The Lobos travel to Logan for their 2020 matchup against the Aggies.

San Diego State Aztecs

Always a powerhouse in the Mountain West, 2019 was no exception. The Aztecs went 10-3, but one of their losses came at the hands of the Aggies. Utah State beat San Diego State 23-17 in San Diego.

In the New Mexico Bowl, San Diego State blew out Central Michigan, 48-11.

For their 2020 matchup against the Aggies, the Aztecs will travel to Logan, Utah.

Wyoming Cowboys

The Aggies travel to Laramie for their Mountain West matchup against the Wyoming Cowboys in 2020.

In 2019, the Cowboys went 7-5. The Aggies beat the Cowboys 26-21 in Logan.
