Taysom Hill Bursts For Long Touchdown Against Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Former BYU and current New Orleans Saints quarterback Taysom Hill reeled off a 45-yard catch and run for a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers.
Hill’s TD reception came late in the third quarter of the game between the Saints and Panthers at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday, December 29.
The QB caught a short pass from Drew Brees in the flat, turned up the field, and burst down the sideline for the Saints’ sixth touchdown of the game. Hill’s score extended New Orleans’ advantage to 42-3 with 4:24 remaining in the third quarter.

The catch was Hill’s first target by Brees against the Panthers. Earlier in the game, Hill carried the ball once for a couple of yards.

Hill came into Sunday’s matchup with the Panthers having recorded 18 catches for 189 yards and 5 touchdowns in 15 games this year.

Brees was 19/30 for 253 yards and 3 touchdowns at the time of Hill’s touchdown reception.
The former BYU quarterback has thrown 3/6 for 55 yards this season. He’s run the ball 25 times for 152 yards and a touchdown in 2019.
The Saints entered the game against the Panthers with a 12-3 record and a 6-1 record on the road. New Orleans secured the NFC South Division title and a spot in the playoffs earlier this season.
