BYU LB Austin Kafentzis Invited To 2020 Hula Bowl

PROVO, Utah – The Hula Bowl announced that BYU linebacker Austin Kafentzis was invited to participate in the 2020 Hula Bowl.
Kafentzis’ selection was announced by the Hula Bowl on Friday, December 26.
The senior athlete will have the opportunity to showcase his football talents during the all-star exhibition held at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sunday, January 26.

The Hula Bowl was started in 1946 and the first game was played on January 5, 1947. In 1960, the bowl became an all-star exhibition.
2020’s Hula Bowl “will include NCAA college football players from all divisions, along with international players from Japan, Canada, Australia, and the UK. In addition, the game will always include Polynesian players with historic ties to the Islands.”

Kafentzis played for BYU from 2017-19. During his time in Provo, the linebacker bounced around multiple position groups including running back and defensive back. As a linebacker in 2019, Kafentzis recorded 16 total tackles, 6 solo tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, and 2 pass breakups.

He’s a native of Sandy, Utah. His father played for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors before heading to the NFL.
The Hula Bowl is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. (MDT) on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Tickets for the event start at $14.
