Tap Back By Mitchell Leads To Gobert Dunk, First Jazz Lead Of 2nd Half

ATLANTA, Ga. – After receiving the ball from Joe Ingles, Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell tapped the basketball behind his head to center Rudy Gobert who dunked the ball and gave Utah its first lead of the second half against the Atlanta Hawks.
Gobert’s jam put Utah up 60-59 with 8:50 left in the third quarter of the game on Thursday, December 19.
Ingles began a fast break after stripping the ball from Hawks center Alex Len before dumping the ball off to Mitchell under the basket. Mitchell immediately tapped the ball back to a driving Gobert who bounced up for the two-hand slam.

It was the Jazz’s first lead since 23-22 late in the first quarter.

At the end of the third quarter, the Jazz trailed the Hawks 84-83.
Gobert posted 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 rebound through the first three quarters of play. Mitchell recorded 15 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists while Ingles accounted for 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
