SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Football Writers Association of America announced their 2019 All-Americans and named three University of Utah football players to the team.

Utah defensive linemen Bradlee Anae and Leki Fotu as well as running back Zack Moss were named All-Americans by the FWAA on Thursday, December 19.

Anae was honored as a member of the first-team. Fotu and Moss were named to the second team.

The FWAA’s All-America honors are the second-longest continuously published All-America team in college football.

The Football Writers Association team is one of the five teams used by the NCAA to determine the season’s consensus All-Americans. The others are the Sporting News, Associated Press, Walter Camp All-America, and American Football Coaches Association.

Anae is expected to become Utah’s eighth consensus All-American when the NCAA releases the team later in December.

He earned first-team honors from the FWAA, AFCA, Walter Camp, and Sporting News. He was awarded third-team honors by the Associated Press.

He was also honored an All-America player by Sports Illustrated and ESPN.

Anae was named first-team All-Pac-12 for the second time in his career. He finished the 2019 regular season with 12.5 sacks and 29.5 career sacks, tying the school record with Hunter Dimick.

Fotu was named first-team All-Pac-12 and Walter Camp first-team All-American. He had 8.5 tackles for loss and one sack to go with his two pass breakups and one forced fumble.

Moss was named to the first team by Pro Football Focus and the second team by CBS Sports.
