Utah Football Lands Highest Rated Recruit In Program History

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Clark Phillips III announced his commitment to the University of Utah football team Thursday afternoon.
Phillips is a four-star cornerback from La Habra, California.
Phillips is 5’10.5 and 178 pounds from La Habra High School. He is the No. 4 cornerback and the 5th highest-rated recruit in the state of California.

This past season, Phillips had 6 interceptions, two were returned for touchdowns. He originally committed to Ohio State but flipped his commitment to Utah.

He has received offers from Ohio State, California, USC, Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, BYU, Clemson, Colorado, Colorado State, Florida, Fresno State, Georgia, Iowa State, Kansas State, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn State, San Jose State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Washington and Washington State.
Phillips will be following in the dominant footsteps of Utah’s lockdown corner Jaylon Johnson who is entering this year’s NFL Draft.
