PROVO, Utah – The Early Signing Period is upon us and the BYU Cougars are looking to finish strong with a solid class that continues to show progress in Kalani Sitake’s program.

Height, Weight: 5-11, 170 pounds

Position: Cornerback or Safety

Hometown: Chandler, Arizona

School: Basha High School

Commitment Date: 12/16/2019

Enrollment:  Summer 2020

247Sports Composite Star Ranking: Three-star recruit

247Sports State of Arizona Ranking: No. 36

Micah Harper announced his commitment to BYU earlier this week. One of the pressing needs in BYU’s 2020 recruiting class is the cornerback position. Harper will enroll at BYU this summer and have an opportunity to compete right away for playing time. Coaches sold Harper on the idea of becoming BYU’s next Dayan Ghanwoloku, a swing defensive back who could play either cornerback at safety at the collegiate level.

While at Basha High School in Arizona, Harper played positions on both defense and offense, even a little bit of quarterback during his prep career.
