Excellent Defense Leads Weber State To First FCS Semifinals Appearance

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats advanced to their first FCS Playoffs semifinals in program history with spectacular defense in a win over the Montana Grizzlies.
The Wildcats defeated the Grizzlies in the quarterfinals at Stewart Stadium on Friday, December 13.
Weber State’s defense was amazing in the victory and forced five interceptions by Montana quarterback Dalton Sneed.

After trailing 7-3 at halftime, the Wildcats scored a touchdown in the third and fourth quarters and held the Grizz to a field goal with just over three minutes left in the game.
The Wildcats took control of the game when Jake Constantine hit Johs Davis for an 11-yard touchdown with 9:46 left in the third quarter.

Weber State extends its lead after Ja’Kobe Harris blocked a Montana punt an recovered the ball in the end zone.

Although Montana outgained Weber State in total yardage 257-113, the Grizzlies couldn’t overcome the Wildcats’ stifling passing defense and the turnovers they forced.
Wildcat defender Adam Rodriguez tied a single-game school record with 4 sacks against the Grizz.
No. 3 Weber State will face No. 2 James Madison on December 21.
