Utah State Accepts Invite To Frisco Bowl Against Kent State

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies have accepted an invitation to play the Kent State Golden Flashes in the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl.
The Aggies will play the Golden Flashes at 5:30 p.m. (MDT) on December 20, 2019. The game will be played at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. It will be televised on ESPN2.
The Frisco Bowl will be the second bowl game to be played this college football postseason.
Utah State finished the 2019 regular season with a 7-5 record. They were 6-2 in Mountain West Conference play which was third place in the Mountain division.
Kent State finished the regular season with a 6-6 overall record and were 5-3 in the Mid-American Conference.

The Frisco Bowl is owned and operated by ESPN. 2019 will be the bowl game’s third-ever after it was started in 2017.
Utah State will be making its 14th bowl appearance in program history.
It will be Utah State’s first time playing in the Frisco Bowl.
The Aggies last played in a bowl game in 2018 when they defeated North Texas in the New Mexico Bowl.
The Aggies began the 2019 season winning three of their first four games before dropping three of their next four. Utah State closed the up and down year winning three of its final four games including a 38-25 victory over New Mexico in the regular season finale.
Utah State had key wins over San Diego State, Fresno State, and Wyoming. The Aggies suffered losses to then No. 5 LSU, Air Force, and BYU throughout the 12-game regualar season slate of games.
USU quarterback Jordan Love led the Aggies throwing for 3,085 yards and 17 touchdowns. Running back Gerold Bright posted 827 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground. Siaosi Mariner led Utah State receivers with 56 receptions for 874 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Last season, the BYU Cougars defeated the Western Michigan Broncos 49-18 in the Potato Bowl.
