USU’s Neemias Queta Plays For First Time This Season Against Fresno State

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State center Neemias Queta made his first appearance of the 2019-20 season in the Aggies’ game against the Fresno State Bulldogs.
Queta and the No. 25 Aggies hosted the Bulldogs in Logan on Saturday, December 7.
The Utah State center checked in the game for the first time this season with 10:17 remaining in the first half of the game between the Aggies and Bulldogs.

Queta immediately made his presence felt after joining his teammates on the court.
With 9:07 left in the first half, the USU center received a pass and was fouled going up towards the basket. He would go to the free throw line and make both shots to give the Aggies a 17-15 lead over the Bulldogs.
The Aggies held a 27-24 lead over the Bulldogs at halftime.

Utah State played the first nine games of the season without Queta who was recovering from an injury that he suffered during the summer. The Aggies went 8-1 without the star center.
The Aggie big man was recognized as the Moutain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year last season. He helped lead Utah State to a 28-7 record and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in his first year in Cache Valley.
