Sandy Billboard Congratulates Wrong Team On Pac-12 Title

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A billboard in Sandy, Utah congratulated the Utah Utes football team on winning the 2019 Pac-12 championship.
UPDATE: The sign company reached out to KSL Sports and told us that it was a clerical, human error that caused the sign to appear on the freeway after Utah’s loss in the Pac-12 Championship game.
The only problem, the Oregon Ducks won the Pac-12 title when they defeated the Utes 37-15 at Levi’s Stadium on Friday, December 6.
After the Ducks’ victory, a billboard along Interstate-15 in Sandy spelled out “2019 Pac-12 Champions” beneath the conference championship trophy, the Utes’ logo, and the Pac-12 logo.

Oregon attacked Utah’s strength of rushing defense and ran the ball for 239 yards in the win.
The Ducks improved to 11-2 on the season and secured themselves a spot in the Rose Bowl against a Big Ten opponent.
Utah fell to 11-2 on the season and will sit outside of the College Football Playoff. The Utes will find out their bowl game on Sunday, December 8.
