Taysom Hill Opens Saints’ Game With Blocked Punt, Touchdown Catch

ATLANTA, Ga. – New Orleans quarterback Taysom Hill began the Thanksgiving Day game between the Saints and the Atlanta Falcons with a blocked punt and a touchdown reception.
Hill’s highlight plays came on the first two possessions of the game on Thursday, November 28.
The former Cougar QB got his hand on a 4th & 13 punt from the Falcons’ Ryan Allen and the ball only sailed eight yards to the Atlanta 30-yard line with 13:03 left in the first quarter.
Four plays later, Hill caught a shovel pass from New Orleans QB Drew Brees and ran the ball three yards into the endzone for a Saints’ touchdown.
Hill’s score gave New Orleans a 7-0 lead with 11:07 left in the first quarter.
The former BYU signal-caller entered the Thanksgiving Day game with 11 catches for 102 yards and 3 touchdowns on the season.
Hill is no stranger to spectacular special teams plays. He also blocked a punt against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in December 2018.
New Orleans came into the game with a 9-2 record against the 3-8 Falcons.
