Utah Valley Comes Up Short Against Mount St. Mary’s

EMMITSBURG, MD – The game was tied at 60 with 1:56 left in the game when the Utah Valley Wolverines scored one point and eventually falling to Mount St. Mary’s, 64-61.
Mount St. Mary’s knocked down a free throw to take the lead with 1:27 remaining. Then they stole the ball and made a layup to stretch their lead to 3 with 12 seconds left. Utah Valley made one free throw to cut the lead to two with 8 seconds remaining before Mount St. Mary’s added a free throw in the final seconds to win the game.

Casdon Jardine dropped a career-high 25 points, along with 11 rebounds. He shot 9-17 from the field and 5-11 from the three-point line in 36 minutes. The reigning WAC Player of the Week, T.J. Washington contributed 18 points and 3 rebounds, while shooting 7-18 from the field and 2-7 from beyond the arc. They were the only two Utah Valley players to reach double figures.
As a team, the Wolverines shot 35 percent from the field and 28 percent from the perimeter.
Utah Valley dropped to 4-4 on the season. They will be back on the road to face Colorado State on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The game from Fort Collins will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
