AMHERST, Mass. – BYU’s offense had a three-and-out to open the game against UMass, but it’s smooth sailing ever since.
Sophomore quarterback Zach Wilson is finding his groove again by facing the nation’s worst defense from the Minutemen.
In the second quarter of play, Wilson threw a deep pass to senior wide receiver Talon Shumway on BYU’s first play of their fourth drive of the game. The pass from Wilson was right on the money and landed in Shumway’s hands and the catch resulted in a 48-yard touchdown reception.

Back in fall camp, Wilson said Shumway was one of the more reliable players on the team. “Just the throw ball up to Shumway.” That proved to be a good strategy against a helpless Minutemen squad.
