Utes Launch Late ‘Huntley For Heisman’ Campaign

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah has officially launched a late-season push to get quarterback Tyler Huntley into the conversation for the Heisman Trophy.
The school set up the website HuntleyforHeisman.com, touting the senior quarterback’s achievements over the 2019 season.
The site included a video of Huntley’s top season highlights, and interview on the Pac-12 Network after the Utes’ win over Washington State, tweets from national media praising the quarterback’s statistics, and his story.

The Numbers Speak For Themselves
Huntley’s season has been nothing short of special. He’s completed 74.2 percent of his passes, which ranks second in the nation. Add onto that, a total of 2,397 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and just a single interception.
He ranks 5th in ESPN’s total QBR at 89.1, ranking behind big national names such as LSU’s Joe Burrow, Ohio State’s Justin Fields, and Jalen Hurts of Oklahoma.
As for Huntley’s career, after the Utes’ win over UCLA, he’s now 21-8 as a starter at Utah. He’s tied for third on the career wins list for the Utes, tying Alex Smith, who went 21-1 from 2003-04.

Possible Post Season Awards
Huntley is also on multiple post season award watch lists. He’s a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award, given to the nation’s best quarterback. He’s also a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Award, which distinguishes the country’s best senior QB.
The Season Rolls On
Huntley’s leadership has Utah currently ranked seventh in the College Football Playoff Rankings, and travels to Tucson, Arizona to take on the 4-5 Arizona Wildcats on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
