BYU Coach Kalani Sitake speaks to fans after the announcement that BYU will play in the Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve after the game against Idaho State at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019.
PROVO, Utah – Will BYU head coach Kalani Sitake receive a contract extension after this season?
Sitake’s contract is guaranteed through the 2020 season, but no coach at a major college football program enters the final year of his contract without assurances to his future beyond the final year.
Soon BYU is going to have to make a decision on whether Sitake will be the man of the future to lead the Cougar Football program. BYU players wanted to show their support for their head coach by wearing “#EXTENDKALANI” t-shirts. Some of the players wore the shirts during the Cougars postgame celebration for ESPN’s announcement that BYU was invited to the 2019 Hawaii Bowl.
