BYU QB Zach Wilson Connects With Shumway For First TD Pass In 7 Weeks

PROVO, Utah – BYU quarterback Zach Wilson hit wide receiver Talon Shumway for his first touchdown pass in seven weeks during the Cougars’ game against the Idaho State Bengals.
Wilson’s touchdown came in his first game back from injury on Friday, November 16.
The QB connected with Shumway for a 26-yard score to give BYU a 28-3 lead over the Bengals with 5:00 left in the first half.

The Cougar QB missed BYU’s last four games while he recovered from surgery after suffering a thumb injury against Toledo on September 28, 2019.
Wilson threw for two touchdowns in that game before leaving with the injury.
In the first half against Idaho State, Wilson was 15/21 for 127 yards and the TD to Shumway.
He also surpassed 3,000 career yards during the first 30 minutes of the game.
In 2019, Wilson has a completion percentage of 62.7 for 1,439 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Shumway entered halftime with 4 catches for 38 yards and the score.
In his senior season, the wide receiver has 29 receptions for 361 yards and 2 touchdowns.
