The ninth-year Utah coach has 152 wins at the helm for the Utes and 48 victories from his time at Montana.
Timmy Allen and Both Gach both scored 19 points apiece to lead the Utes to their third straight win to the start the season and their first win over a Big Ten team since 2009. Allen notched a double-double with 10 rebounds to go with his 19 points.

The Utes had a hot start to the game, jumping out to a 12-0 lead, but Minnesota chipped away at the lead until they trailed by six points at the half. Utah bumped the lead up to 10 points in the second half before turning the ball over and allowing Minnesota to tie the game. The Utes were able to hit big shots down the stretch and get some key defensive stops to get the win.
Riley Battin chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Rylan Jones added 10 points, 6 assists and 2 steals. As a team, Utah shot 53 percent from the field and 43 percent from downtown. Their defense limited the Golden Gophers to 35 percent shooting and 36 percent from deep. The big hiccup for the Utes was committing 16 turnovers and Minnesota taking care of the ball, only giving up 5 turnovers. Minnesota capitalized on the turnovers with 15 points off of them.
It's very early but the Runnin' Utes have already exceeded expectations. This is a fun team to watch. They play together. Timmy Allen and Both Gach are stars. Rylan Jones doesn't play the point like a freshman and this team has size inside. pic.twitter.com/dH2qszWT0s
