Utah Women’s Soccer To Face Duke In First Round Of NCAA Tournament

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah women’s soccer has received an invitation to play in the NCAA Tournament. They will travel to North Carolina to face the Duke Blue Devils.
The Utes finished the regular season with an 8-8-4 record, including a 3-5-3 mark in the Pac-12.
Ireland Dunn led the team with 5 goals in 20 games played. Carly Nelson had 101 saves and had 5 shutouts as the goalkeeper for the Utes.

The last time that Utah made the NCAA Tournament was in 2016. They won their first two games against Texas Tech and No. 10 Florida State before losing to No. 7 USC in the third round.
This season, the Utes have wins over Utah State, Cal Poly, Boise State, Nevada, San Diego, Oregon, No. 21 Washington and Colorado. They have tied with Butler, Arizona State, Oregon State and Arizona. Their losses were against Clemson, Alabama, No. 10 BYU, No. 4 USC, No. 22 UCLA, California, No. 2 Stanford and Washington State.
BYU received a 2-seed in the tournament and will face Boise State in the first round. As far as Pac-12 teams, Stanford is a No. 1 seed and will host Prairie View A&M, Arizona will host TCU, Washington State will host Memphis, No. 4-seed Washington will face Seattle U, No. 2 USC will host CSU Fullerton, Cal will travel to Santa Clara and Colorado will host Northern Colorado.
