Micah Simon Finds Matt Bushman For BYU TD On Trick Play

PROVO, Utah – BYU receiver Micah Simon received a reverse pass from quarterback Baylor Romney and found tight end Matt Bushman on the trick play for a 44-yard touchdown.
The trick play TD gave the Cougars a 17-7 lead over the Liberty Flames with 8:36 left in the second quarter on Saturday, November 9.
The Romney-Simon-Bushman connection was the Cougars’ third consecutive game where they broke out some tricks from the playbook.

Simon completed a pass from 13 yards in BYU’s 42-14 win over Utah State on November 2. He played quarterback during his high school career in Texas.

Romney found Bushman for touchdowns on back-to-back fancy plays vs. then No. 14 Boise State on October 20.
At time of Bushman’s TD, Romney was 6/12 for 88 yards and a touchdown. Micah Simon was 1/1 for 44 yards and the score.

The catch was Bushman’s first of the game. It was his fourth TD of the 2019 season.
