Orem Upsets Olympus To Advance In High School Football Playoffs

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The No. 12-seed Orem Tigers was able to pull off the upset on the road over No. 4-seed Olympus, 31-28.
Olympus had the ball and trailed by three points on the Orem five-yard line when Scotty Edwards fumbled the ball and the Tigers recovered to seal the victory. Micah Fe’a had two passing touchdowns to Cayden Viertel and Jaxon Williams. Noah Sewell and Buju Tuisuvura each ran in a rushing touchdown for Orem. Edwards had a rushing and a receiving touchdown in the loss, while Frankie Goodson threw two touchdown passes.
They will face #1 Salem Hills on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the semifinals.

Here are the rest of the results from quarterfinal action in the 5A classification of the Utah high school football playoffs:
#9 Wasatch 0 at #1 Salem Hills 37
Salem Hills shutout Wasatch and scored 27 of their 37 points in the second and third quarters. Jarret Elmer had two passing touchdowns, connecting with Johnny Draper and Reed Johnson. Jordan Ware contributed two rushing touchdowns.
Salem Hills will play #12 Orem in the semifinals on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
#10 Timpview 26 at #2 Provo 7
The game was tied at the end of the first quarter before Timpview scored 19 points in the second quarter and shutout the Bulldogs in the final three quarters. Carsen Ryan had one touchdown pass to Elijah Allen, as well as two rushing touchdowns from Sione Moa.
Timpview will play #11 Lehi in the semifinals on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

#11 Lehi 27 at #3 Farmington 21
Farmington jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first half before Lehi scored two unanswered touchdowns before halftime. The Pioneers outscored the Phoenix 13-7 in the second half to get the upset victory. Lehi benefited from a 27-yard pick six by Jaxson Southard and a 34-yard scoop and score by Jacob Vasquez.
Lehi will face #10 Timpview in the semifinals on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
