Pac-12 Week 10 Power Rankings: Utah/Oregon Title Game Starting To Take Shape

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – With big road wins by both Utah and Oregon, it is starting to look like the two teams will see each other in the Pac-12 Championship game in Santa Clara, California.
Utah knocked off Washington 33-28 for their fifth straight win, while Oregon dominated USC 56-24 for their eighth straight win.
Here’s the KSL Sports Pac-12 Power Rankings after the 10th week of the season:
NORTH
1. No. 7 Oregon Ducks (8-1, 6-0 Pac-12)
Result: Beat USC 56-24 on the road.
Recap: The Trojans jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter before the Ducks answered with 21 straight points in the second quarter. Oregon outscored USC 28-7 in the second half to pick up their 8th straight victory. Quarterback Justin Herbert completed 21 of his 26 pass attempts for 225 yards, 3 touchdowns and one interception. Running back Travis Dye racked up 75 yards on 12 carries. Juwan Johnson hauled in seven catches for 106 yards and 3 touchdowns.

2. Oregon State Beavers (4-4, 3-2 Pac-12)
Result: Beat Arizona 56-38 on the road.
Recap: Oregon State had a 7-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. From that point, the Beavers outscored Arizona 49-32 in the final three quarters to get their second straight win. Jake Luton completed 20 of his 26 pass attempts for 328 yards and 3 touchdowns. The running game was on point as well with Artavis Pierce racking up 114 rushing yards and one touchdown, and Jermar Jefferson ran for 105 yards and 3 touchdowns. Wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins had seven receptions for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Oregon State had 572 yards of total offense.

3. Stanford Cardinal (4-4, 3-3 Pac-12)
Result: Bye week
Recap: Stanford had a bye this past week. They will return to action on Saturday against Colorado.

4. Washington Huskies (5-4, 2-4 Pac-12)
Result: Lost to No. 9 Utah 33-28 at home.
Recap: Washington had a 14-3 lead in the second quarter before Utah rattled off 10 straight points to trim the Huskies lead to one at halftime. UW started the second half with a touchdown, but Jaylon Johnson stopped that momentum with a pick-six to bring the Utes within two points. Washington was held to one touchdown in the fourth quarter, while allowing two touchdowns by Utah. It’s their second straight loss and their first losing streak since 2015. Quarterback Jacob Eason threw for 316 passing yards on 29-of-52 attempts. He had four touchdowns and two interceptions. Tight end Hunter Bryant caught six passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

5. Washington State Cougars (4-4, 1-4 Pac-12)

SOUTH
1. No. 8 Utah Utes (8-1, 5-1 Pac-12)
Result: Beat Washington 33-28 on the road.
Recap: Washington had a 14-3 lead in the second quarter before Utah rattled off 10 straight points to trim the Huskies lead to one at halftime. UW started the second half with a touchdown, but Jaylon Johnson stopped that momentum with a pick-six to bring the Utes within two points. Utah scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and held the Huskies to seven points to get their fifth straight win. Quarterback Tyler Huntley completed 19 of his 24 pass attempts for 284 yards and two total touchdowns, one passing and one rushing. Zack Moss racked up 100 yards and one touchdown on 27 carries. He also had five receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. The Utes are now solely in first place in the Pac-12 South Division after their win and USC’s loss to Oregon.

2. USC Trojans (5-4, 4-2 Pac-12)
Result: Lost to No. 7 Oregon 56-24 at home.
Recap: USC had a 10-0 lead in the first quarter before the Ducks answered with 21 straight points in the second quarter. Oregon outscored USC 28-7 in the second half. The Trojans dropped to second place in the Pac-12 South Division. Quarterback Kedon Slovis threw for 264 yards, 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Running back Kenan Christon had 15 carries for 79 yards.

3. UCLA Bruins (4-5, 4-2 Pac-12)
Result: Defeated Colorado 31-14 at home.
Recap: The Bruins had a 17-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and that was the difference in the game. Joshua Kelley had another great performance with 126 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Dorian Thompson-Robinson threw for 226 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

5. Arizona Wildcats (4-5, 2-4 Pac-12)
Result: Lost to Oregon State 56-38 at home.
Recap: Oregon State had a 7-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. From that point, the Beavers outscored Arizona 49-32 in the final three quarters. Arizona has lost four straight games. Grant Gunnell threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns, while J.J. Taylor racked up 78 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and caught seven passes for 89 yards.

6. Colorado Buffaloes (3-6, 1-5 Pac-12)
Result: Lost to UCLA 31-14 on the road.
Recap: Colorado couldn’t overcome the 17-0 deficit at the end of the first quarter. They scored their two touchdowns in the second and fourth quarters. Steven Montez threw for 195 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Tony Brown had 6 receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. The Buffaloes have lost five straight games.
