Stansbury Scores Late TD To Advance In State Playoffs

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Stansbury Stallions needed a touchdown pass from Kru Huxford to Cayden Clark with 17 seconds left in the game to avoid the upset as they pick up a 28-24 win over Mountain Crest in the second round of the playoffs.
Stansbury needed two touchdowns in the second quarter to tie the game heading into halftime. Mountain Crest took the lead back in the third quarter before the Stallions outscored Mountain Crest 14-3 in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead touchdown with 17 seconds left in the game. Huxford had three passing touchdowns to three different receivers. Tommy Christopherson added a rushing touchdown for Stansbury.
For Mountain Crest, Taden Burbank had one passing touchdown, with Emillo Veater and Hunter Schroeder each running in a touchdown.
Stansbury will play #3 Dixie on Friday.

#16 Logan 0 at #1 Park City 20
The Miners had two touchdowns on the ground from Dylan Bauer, while Mark McCurdy added a rushing score as Park City pitches the shutout.
Park City will face #9 Snow Canyon on Friday.
#9 Snow Canyon 42 at #8 Desert Hills 31
Desert Hills scored 28 of their 31 points in the second quarter. Snow Canyon scored 21 points in the third to tie the game entering the fourth quarter when they outscored Desert Hills 14-3 in the final period. Landon Frei and Bretton Stone led the way with one rushing touchdown each for Snow Canyon.
Snow Canyon will play #1 Park City on Friday.
#13 Cedar City 21 at #4 Green Canyon 28
The first touchdown of the game for Green Canyon was the difference. They added two scores in the second quarter, while Cedar City had seven points in the second quarter and 14 points in the fourth quarter, but Green Canyon added a touchdown in the fourth. Cedar City scored with 40 seconds left in the game but the comeback came up short.
Green Canyon will face #5 Pine View on Friday.
#12 Bear River 7 at #5 Pine View 49
Bear River scored their only touchdown in the third quarter when Pine View had a 21-0 lead. MaCloud Crowton threw six touchdowns and ran in one more. Daylor Rymer had two receiving touchdowns, while Dayson Moore, Dominique McKenzie, Jacob Nobili and Marcus McKenzie each added one score through the air.
Pine View will play #4 Green Canyon on Friday.
#15 Cedar Valley 0 at #2 Sky View 62
Kason Carlsen threw five touchdown passes, three to Mason Falslev. Carlsen also caught a touchdown pass from Scout Morris and ran in a score as well. Garett Zollinger added a rushing touchdown in the shutout win for Sky View.
Sky View will face #7 Mountain View on Friday.
#10 Tooele 14 at #7 Mountain View 35
Mountain View jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and Tooele couldn’t rebound. Duce and Jett Anderson did all of the damage for Mountain View. Duce had two passing and one rushing touchdown, while Jett added one rushing and one passing score.
Mountain View will play #2 Sky View on Friday.
#14 Ridgeline 7 at #3 Dixie 38
Ridgeline scored their only touchdown in the second quarter. Dixie had four total touchdowns by Reggie Graff, two passing and two rushing in the win.
Dixie will face #6 Stansbury on Friday.
