SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – In his much-anticipated debut Bamidele Olaseni, lovingly known by Ute fans as Bam, started at right tackle against the Washington Huskies.
Olaseni hasn’t been playing in order to maintain his redshirt.
On June 13th, 2018, the NCAA changed its policy on the redshirt rule, allowing players to compete in up to four games without losing a season of eligibility. This rule, however, only applies during the regular season so if Utah were to make it to the Pac-12 title game or a bowl, Olaseni would keep his redshirt.
