SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz have assigned former Yale Bulldog Miye Oni to the Salt Lake City Stars. He was the first Ivy League player to be drafted in the NBA since 1995.
The Stars are the G-League affiliate of the Jazz. The announcement was made Monday, as the Stars released their roster for the 2019-20 season.
The 6’5” guard played in five preseason games, averaging 3.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists while averaging 10.2 minutes per game.

Oni played college basketball at Yale and was selected by the Warriors in the second round of the 2019 draft. His rights were then traded to Utah.
Before the regular season began, Oni had a heated exchange with Dante Exum that was later shrugged off my head coach Quin Snyder.
Coach Snyder did not think it was a big deal that Dante Exum and Miye Oni got mad at each other at practice. Said it happens all the time. #utahjazz @kslsports #jazznotes #takenote

“If we let (the media) in practice every day you would see a lot of altercations,” said Snyder, “That’s a natural part of the game…guys are smiling today and getting after it.”
The Jazz are in action Monday night in Phoenix versus the Suns at 8:00 p.m.
