PROVO, Utah – BYU defensive back Dayan Ghanwoloku was asked about what he expects from Utah State’s fans on Saturday when the Cougars head to Logan to face the Aggies.
The rivalry between Utah State and BYU will be renewed at Maverik Stadium on Saturday at 8 p.m.
“Cowbells,” Ghanwoloku laughed. “I saw something on Twitter that Utah State is going to come out and play like they are protecting their dairy farm. That’s how I feel like they are going to come out, ready to protect their dairy farm and we are going to take over, that’s the plan.”

The Aggies have won the last two meetings over the Cougars. It’s the first two game winning streak over BYU since 1973 and 1974. Utah State started the streak with a 40-24 win in Logan back in 2017 and knocked off the Cougars in Provo, 45-20 last season.
Utah State is an agricultural university, offering multiple agricultural programs including food science and ag-business.
BYU is coming off of a bye week after knocking off undefeated and 14th ranked Boise State two weeks ago. The Aggies suffered their third loss of the season on Saturday when they fell to Air Force 31-7 in Colorado Springs.
The game on Saturday between BYU and Utah State will kickoff at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
The Ice Cream Rivalry
Both BYU and Utah State have famous ice cream shops on campus and a common debate between them is who has the better sweet treat.
Cougars have the BYU Creamery, offering flavors like LaVell’s Vanilla and Graham Canyon.
