SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After much concern of whether or not Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley would play against Cal on Saturday night, the senior will get the start against the Golden Bears.
The quarterback exited the game against Arizona State twice last week in the second and third quarters before Kyle Whittingham shut him down for the fourth quarter in the win.
Huntley told Dirk Facer of the Deseret News “I’m playing” in Utah’s game against the Bears.

The Utah QB experienced a season-ending injury against ASU in 2018. The 2019 injury isn’t season-ending according to Utes’ head coach Kyle Whittingham.
On the season, Huntley has completed 74 percent of his passes for 1,564 yards and 9 touchdowns. He’s also added 229 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground.
He is seventh among FBS quarterbacks in passing efficiency in 2019 with a rating of 180.1.
Utah is 2-2 against the Golden Bears since joining the Pac-12 conference in 2011.
