SEATTLE, Washington – After absorbing pressure through the first 15 minutes of the second half, Real Salt Lake finally conceded a goal to the Seattle Sounders in the 64th minute of their playoff game Wednesday night.
The goal came off a set piece. Nicolas Lodeiro took the corner kick, whipping the ball in to Gustav Svensson at the near post. Svensson got his head on the ball, and redirected it to the near post, and into the back of the net.

Prior to the goal, Real Salt Lake had only given up 10 goals off of set pieces during their 2019 season.
Rimando Doing His Part
The goal came in spite of Nick Rimando’s best efforts. Prior to the goal, the MLS veteran had made 6 saves on the night, including one just three minutes prior to the score. The save came off a free kick from Lodeiro, who played a perfectly weighted ball to Raul Ruidiaz. Ruidiaz’s header floated toward the top of the frame, but was picked out by a fully-stretching Rimando.
61'- Costing them a pretty penny, @nickrimando
