Real Monarchs To Host Orange County SC In Postseason

HERRIMAN, Utah – Real Monarchs SLC finished in fourth place during the 2019 USL Championship regular season and have found out when and where they will begin their postseason run.

They will host Orange County SC on Saturday, October 26 at 1 p.m. at Zions Bank Stadium.

It’s their third appearance in the playoffs in as many seasons.

Entering the postseason, forward Douglas Martinez led the Monarchs in scoring with 16 goals and six assists in 22 appearances. He made Monarchs history with the first ever hattrick in a 5-0 win over Tacoma Defiance. Midfielder Maikel Chang added 13 goals and five assists.

Goalkeeper David Ochoa completed his first professional season with a record of 7-4-4 in 15 appearances. RSL’s backup goalkeeper Andrew Putna played in 13 games with the Monarchs, posting a 6-3-1 record.

Against Orange County, the Monarchs are 4-6-1 overall in the regular season, including a 3-2-1 mark at home. Their last meeting was in early October when they picked up a 2-0 win.
