BYU Scores TD On Opening Drive For First Time Of 2019 Season

PROVO, Utah – BYU scored a touchdown on their opening drive against the Boise State Broncos. It was the first game of the 2019 season that the Cougars scored a touchdown on their first drive.
Cougar running back Lopini Katoa punched in a four-yard TD run with 3:34 left in the left in the 1st quarter of BYU’s game against Boise State on Saturday, October 19.
Katoa’s score tied the game 7-7.

The Cougars have scored a couple of fields goal on opening drives this season but no touchdowns.
BYU made FGs on their first drives against Washington and South Florida.
Katoa’s touchdown was his first of the season.

He posted eight rushing touchdowns during the 2018 season as a freshman. He got his first start of the 2019 season against the Broncos on Saturday.
