PROVO, Utah – BYU outside linebacker Isaiah Kaufusi picked off Boise State’s backup quarterback Chase Cord to ignite the LaVell Edwards Stadium crowd.
On the Broncos second drive of the game, from the Broncos own 30-yard line Cord threw a pick to the Cougars star junior linebacker.

The pick was Kaufusi’s fourth of his career and second this season. Kaufusi’s first interception came last month against another nationally-ranked in the USC Trojans. BYU won that game 30-27 in overtime.
Kaufusi’s diving interception was the only takeaway by either team in the first half.
BYU trails No. 14 Boise State 10-7 at the half.
The Cougar defense which has been scrutinized in recent weeks has only allowed 129 yards to the Bronco offense. Coming into the game Boise State’s offense was 17th nationally in total yards with 488.2 yards per game.
Head Coach Kalani Sitake has been very active on the sideline when the BYU defense is on the field. Sitake has been standing next to defensive coordinator Ilaisa Tuiaki, cornerbacks coach Jernaro Gilford, and defensive analyst Matty Ah You signaling in plays.
