Salt Lake City, Utah – The Utah Jazz invited fans to kick off the season with a Purple Mountain Party.
The organization welcomed fans to celebrate the team’s throwback purple mountain logo themed jersey’s that will be worn for the first time since 2004. The Jazz wore the mountain jersey’s for their back-to back-NBA Finals appearances in 1997 and 1998.
The event, hosted at Vivint Smart Home Arena, had activities for fans to get their picture taken on the floor, face painting, a throwback video game arcade station, and a 90’s bedroom set up to channel fans’ inner nostalgia.
Several thousand fans showed up to get their pictures taken alongside the Jazz Bear, participate in team trivia, and even get their own playing card printed wearing a Jazz uniform.
Over the jumbotron, the Jazz aired game six of the 1997 NBA Western Conference Finals when John Stockton sent the Jazz to their first-ever finals appearance with a game-winning three-pointer against the Houston Rockets.
