SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz announced that they’ve agreed to a long-term contract extension with head coach Quin Snyder, who is entering the sixth year of his career with the Jazz.
The Jazz have a 227-183 record under Snyder, who is just the fifth coach of the franchise since the team moved to Utah in 1979. Snyder is the third winningest coach in team history, and sits just 50 wins behind Frank Layden, who led the team from 1981-1989.
Jerry Sloan is the franchise leader with 1127 wins.
The Jazz have made three consecutive trips to the postseason under the coach, and have finished with 50 wins or better in two of the three previous seasons.
We’re excited that Quin will continue to be with the organization for years to come and love the culture he has helped build on and off the court. https://t.co/vUEy9wGKuO

Jazz players have lauded Snyder for the effort he’s put into building the Jazz into a contender.
“I consider him one of the best in the business,” Jazz guard Mike Conley said. “I have a lot of respect for him and what he’s doing here, and what he’s built.”
In addition to his notoriously long practices, Snyder is known to be a master of detail when working with his team.
“We stop a lot to just go over the smallest of things.” Conley said. “Everyone’s held accountable, from myself, all the way down. It’s really unique in that aspect.”
