Brighton Tops Highland With Three Rushing Touchdowns

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Brighton Bengals knocked off the Highland Rams 31-14 in the final week of the high school football regular season.
They were able to get three rushing touchdowns in the win as Gabe Curtis found the end zone twice. J.J. Hanugatau ran one into the end zone as well for the Bengals.
Here is the rest of the results from the 5A classification in the final week of the high school football regular season:
Region 6
Cottonwood 0 at Hillcrest 49
Cutler Smith ran in three rushing touchdowns. Ryan Sharp, Sean Modesto, Taavili Tuitama and Talon Yates each had a rushing touchdown in the shutout win for Hillcrest.
Olympus 41 at Skyline 17
Olympus put the game away in the fourth quarter by scoring 17 points. Chase Hopkins had three rushing touchdowns along with one passing score from Tommy Hoggan.

Region 7
Orem 21 at Lehi 24
Creyton Cooper threw two touchdowns and ran in one for Lehi. Noah Sewell had a rushing touchdown for Orem. Lehi scored the go-ahead touchdown in third quarter with both teams scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Timpanogos 23 at Timpview 52
Timpview dropped 42 points in the first half, allowing just three points to Timpanogos. Elijah Allen had two passing touchdowns, along with one coming from Noa Morris. Sione Moa ran in two scores and Solo Langi had one rushing touchdown for Timpview.

Region 8
Payson 3 at Provo 35
Provo scored 35 unanswered points as Payson scored their only field goal late in the fourth quarter. Jace Welsch had three touchdown passes, finding Dallin Havea twice along with a rushing touchdown.
Salem Hills 34 at Maple Mountain 19
Salem Hills had just a five point lead entering the fourth quarter before they shutout Maple Mountain 10-0 in the final period to get the win. Luke Degraffenried had two passing touchdowns, both to Reed Johnson.
Springville 27 at Wasatch 28 OT
The game was tightly contested throughout but the difference was Springville missing the extra point after their touchdown in overtime. Zak Thacker had two rushing touchdowns with Parker Quinton finding the end zone twice through the air for Wasatch. Payton Murphy had four touchdowns in the loss for Springville, three passing and one rushing.

Box Elder 14 at Murray 28
Murray broke the game open in the third quarter when they scored 18 points and held Box Elder scoreless. Kyler Nielsen had four touchdowns through the air, finding Owen Madsen for three of those four scores.
Green Canyon 21 at Woods Cross 35
Woods Cross outscored Green Canyon 28-14 in the first half and was able to hold on for the win. Carter Weierman threw two and ran in two touchdowns for the Wildcats. Jacob Lundin scored all three touchdowns for Green Canyon, one passing and two rushing.
Mountain Crest 0 at Bountiful 27
The Braves jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Jared McCann had two rushing touchdowns with Carson Knudsen finding the end zone once in the shutout win for Bountiful.
Ridgeline 49 at Viewmont 48 2OT

Spanish Fork 35 at Mountain Ridge 14
Spanish Fork dropped 21 points in the third quarter to create separation that ultimately led to their win over Mountain Ridge. Kaden Holt had three touchdown passes and one on the ground in the win for the Dons.
