Jamaal Williams Puts Up Huge Run For Packers In Return From Head Injury

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After suffering a head injury two weeks ago, former Cougar Jamaal Williams came back big for the Green Bay Packers with a 45-yard run and a touchdown.

Other locals like Ziggy Ansah, Eric Weddle and Eric Rowe played well on defense for their NFL teams. Here is how all of the players with ties to the state of Utah fared during week six of the NFL.

Former Utes

Star Lotulelei, DT, Buffalo Bills (4-1)
Lotulelei and the Bills had a bye this week.
Next Up: vs. Miami Dolphins (0-5), Sunday at 11 a.m. on CBS.

Devontae Booker, RB, Denver Broncos (2-4)
Booker played 11 snaps on special teams in the Broncos’ 16-0 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Next Up: vs. Kansas City Chiefs (4-2), Thursday at 6:20 p.m. on FOX and NFL Network.

Garett Bolles, OL, Denver Broncos (2-4)
Bolles started and left tackle and played all 62 snaps on offense as the Broncos knocked off the Tennessee Titans, 16-0.
Next Up: vs. Kansas City Chiefs (4-2), Thursday at 6:20 p.m. on FOX and NFL Network.

Sam Tevi, OL, Los Angeles Chargers (2-4)
Tevi started at right tackle and played all 62 snaps in the Chargers’ 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Next Up: at Tennessee Titans (2-4), Sunday at 2:05 p.m. on CBS.

Eric Weddle, S, Los Angeles Rams (3-3)
Weddle started at safety and picked up 10 tackles, including four solo takedowns in the Rams’ 20-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Eric Rowe, CB, Miami Dolphins (0-5)
Rowe started at cornerback and piled up 6 tackles and one pass deflection as the Dolphins lost to the Washington Redskins, 17-16.

Marcus Williams, S, New Orleans Saints (5-1)
Williams started at safety, while picking up 5 tackles and two pass deflections in the Saints’ 13-6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Mitch Wishnowsky, P, San Francisco 49ers (5-0)
The rookie punter had four punts for 159 yards. He averaged 39.8 yards per punt and the longest traveled 51 yards in the 49ers 20-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Marquise Blair, S, Seattle Seahawks (5-1)
Blair played eight snaps on defense and 12 on special teams, but didn’t record any statistics in the Seahawks’ 32-28 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Cody Barton, LB, Seattle Seahawks (5-1)
Barton played 18 snaps on special teams as the Seahawks beat the Cleveland Browns, 32-28.

Matt Gay, K, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4)
The rookie kicker nailed a 54-yard field goal and made an extra point in the Buccaneers 37-26 loss to the Carolina Panthers in London.

Tony Bergstrom, OL, Washington Redskins (1-5)
Bergstrom played four snaps on special teams in the Redskins’ 17-16 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Former Cougars

Ezekiel Ansah, DE, Seattle Seahawks (5-1)
Ansah appeared in his third game of the season. He recorded two tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. His fumble recovery set up a Seattle touchdown in their 32-28 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Michael Davis, CB, Los Angeles Chargers (2-4)
Davis started at cornerback and had five tackles in the Chargers’ 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Taysom Hill, QB, New Orleans Saints (5-1)
Hill ran the ball three times for New Orleans on Sunday. He recorded 17 yards on his touches including a long run of 19 yards. The Saints beat the Jaguars 13-6.

Harvey Langi, New York Jets (1-4)
The former Cougars linebacker recorded one tackle for the Jets on Sunday. He posted the stat on a special teams play. New York beat the Dallas Cowboys 24-22.
Next Up: vs. New England Patriots (6-0), Monday at 6:15 p.m. on ESPN.

Daniel Sorensen, S, Kansas City Chiefs (4-2)
The former BYU DB posted three tackles for the Chiefs on Sunday. Two of Sorensen’s tackles were solo tackles. Kansas City fell in consecutive games. This week’s loss was 31-24 against the Houston Texans.

Sione Takitaki, LB, Cleveland Browns (2-4)
Takitaki played 16 snaps on special teams as the Browns lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 32-28.

Kyle Van Noy, LB, New England Patriots (6-0)
The former Cougar linebacker recorded two tackles, one sack, and two quarterback hits on Thursday night. Van Noy recovered a fumble and ran it back for a touchdown in the Patriots 35-14 victory over the New York Giants.

Fred Warner, LB, San Francisco 49ers (5-0)
Warner recorded seven tackles including a tackle for loss and a QB hit on Sunday. The 49ers shut down the Rams’ offense and the Niners came away with a 20-7 win over Los Angeles.

Jamaal Williams, RB, Green Bay Packers (5-1)
The former Cougar had the longest run of his career and scored a touchdown in the Packers’ Monday Night Football win.

Maurice Alexander, S, Buffalo Bills (4-1)
Alexander and the Bills had a bye this week.

The former Aggie played 9 snaps on special teams in the Panthers’ 37-26 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London.

Patrick Scales, LS, Chicago Bears (3-2)
Scales and the Bears had a bye this week.

Nick Vigil, LB, Cincinnati Bengals (0-6)
Vigil started at linebacker while leading the team with 13 tackles as well as a pass deflection and fumble recovery in the Bengals’ 23-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Kyler Fackrell, LB, Green Bay Packers (5-1)
Fackrell had a quarterback hit and three total tackles in the Packers win over the Lions on Monday Night Football.

Darwin Thompson, RB, Kansas City Chiefs (4-2)
Thompson played 11 snaps on special teams for the Chiefs in their 31-24 loss to the Houston Texans.

JoJo Natson, WR, Los Angeles Rams (3-3)
Natson returned three kickoffs for 74 yards. His longest return was 27-yards. He also returned one punt for eight yards in the Rams’ 20-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
