Weber State Intercepts SUU Four Times, Gets In-State Victory

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats forced four interceptions against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds on their way to an in-state win.
The Wildcats created four picks against SUU quarterback Chris Helbig on Saturday, October 12.
Weber State beat the T-Birds 29-14 for their second Big Sky win.

The Wildcats scored 22 points in the second half and pulled away from Southern Utah for the home victory.
Weber State QB Kaden Jenks completed 13/22 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown.

Wildcats’ running back Kevin Smith carried the ball 16 times for 108 yards.
Helbig threw for 305 yards and touchdowns in the loss. His four turnovers turned out to be a fatal blow for the Cedar City team.
Weber State moved to 4-2 (2-0) on the season with the win. SUU fell to a record of 1-6 (0-3).
