Kearns Holds Off West’s Comeback For Homecoming Win

KEARNS, Utah – The Kearns Cougars held off a late comeback attempt against the West Panthers to get a 27-21 win.
The Cougars jumped out to an early lead on a Joe Alusa 70-yard kick return for a touchdown.
West scored 14 points in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit as the Cougars went wire-to-wire for a six-point region victory.

The Cougars moved to an 8-1 record with the win. West fell to a record of 3-5.
Kearns quarterback Dakota Lynde threw for a touchdown while Isaiah Afatasi and Naki Leha each added a score on the ground.
The Panthers were led by Abraham Williams who had two touchdowns, one through the air and one rushing in the loss.
West closes out their regular season schedule when they host Granger on Friday, October 18 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
The Cougars wrap up their slate of regular season games by hosting Cyprus on Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m.
