Corner Canyon Stays Perfect Against One-Loss Skyridge

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Corner Canyon Chargers had a 42-point second quarter to propel themselves to a win over one-loss Skyridge.
The Chargers scored 56 unanswered points after the Falcons took a 7-0 lead and ultimately won the game 56-22.
Corner Canyon was led by Austin Bell who had three touchdowns in the victory.

Chargers QB Cole Hagen threw five touchdown passes in the Thursday night game.
Skyridge suffered their second loss of the season and faces Westlake in their regular-season finale.
Corner Canyon takes a 9-0 record on the road to finish the regular season against the American Fork Cavemen.
Here are the rest of the results from the 6A classification during the 9th week of the high school football season.
Region 1
Davis 10 at Fremont 34
Mitch Stratford was firing on all cylinders with five passing touchdowns. He connected with Justin Sagapolu three times and once to both Brandon Baray and Jacob Palmer. Spencer Ferguson found the end zone once on the ground in the loss for Davis.
Layton 28 at Northridge 41
Northridge jumped out to a 31-7 lead at halftime, but the comeback by Layton wasn’t enough. Four different players for Northridge found the end zone on the ground, including Andres Esparza, Colby Browning, Dorian Ishmael and Maximus Fonoti-Maikui. For the Lancers, Landon Brant had two rushing touchdowns.
Syracuse 41 at Clearfield 7
Kobe Rusch had one passing touchdown, while Brevin Hamblin, Micaih Eteuati and Tre’Vaun Peoples each found the end zone on the ground for Syracuse. Bransen Simper had one touchdown through the air for Clearfield.
Weber 30 at Roy 44
Roy had a great start to the game, leading 24-10 at halftime. Both teams scored a touchdown in the third and 13 points in the fourth quarter. For Roy, Jaxson Dart had two passing touchdowns. Izzy Gordon ran in two scores with both Dillan Thoms and Jaden Harris finding the end zone. In the loss for Weber, Kohl Hogan had two touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air. Logan Payne and Luke Johnson each added a rushing touchdown.

Region 2
Cyprus 17 at Hunter 20
Hunter had a 13-10 lead at halftime before they scored a touchdown in the third quarter and Cyprus found the end zone in the fourth. DaiSean Cash threw two touchdowns with Saia Lomu adding a rushing touchdown. Jhdhan Lester had a 91-yard receiving touchdown in the fourth quarter for the Pirates.
Granger 0 at West Jordan 33
Boston Farmer threw one touchdown with both Allen Moea’i and Elijah Lapale finding the end zone on the ground in West Jordan’s shutout win over Granger.
Region 3
Copper Hills 0 at Herriman 45
Jaxon James threw four touchdown passes with Brock Hollingsworth scoring a rushing touchdown in Herrman’s shutout win over Copper Hills.
Riverton 0 at East 14
Amini Amone ran in an 11-yard touchdown and Izaak Zimmerman found To’a Motuliki for a score in the second quarter to give East the close win over Riverton.
Region 4
American Fork 26 at Lone Peak 21
The American Fork Cavemen held off a late comeback attempt from the Lone Peak Knights on Thursday night to capture a 26-21 region victory. AF quarterback Maddux Madsen hooked up with Devin Downing on two touchdowns in the Cavemen’s win. The Knights’ Daniel Yamada scored a TD in the loss.
Westlake 17 at Pleasant Grove 27
Pleasant Grove rode a 20-point first half to a 27-7 win over the Westlake Thunder on Thursday evening. The Vikings were led by quarterback Caleb Campbell who threw two touchdowns in the win. Westlake’s James Ballard had a TD in the Thunder’s defeat.

Non-Region
Lehi (5A) 55 at Taylorsville 0
The Lehi Pioneers went on the road and shutout Taylorsville 55-0 for a non-region victory. The Pioneers scored 28 points in the second quarter. Lehi QB Creyton Cooper threw three touchdowns and ran in another score in the win.
