SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It’s been less than a week of practices for the Utah Jazz and only one preseason game but already new forward Jeff Green thinks he has landed on a roster that will experience a lot of success in the upcoming season.
After the Jazz win over the Adelaide 36ers on Saturday night, Green said he can already tell this team can do great things.
“Defensively we can be something special,” Green said. “Offensively we have scorers on this team. We have numerous guys that can put numbers on the board. But defensively I think is where we can be very, very special.”

With the additions of Green, Mike Conley and Bojan Bogdanovic to a roster that already includes Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles and even Rudy Gobert there indeed will be multiple options to score points in the Jazz offense. But because of the emphasis on defense head coach Quinn Snyder implements the Jazz don’t have to score a lot of points to win a lot of games.
“With (Snyder’s) mindset and his schemes that he has in our personnel, I think those games where maybe we’re not shooting the ball well we have those games on the defensive end that will take us over the top,” Green said.

And that group of guys that Green refers to is one that he feels fits together well.
“We have authentic guys who want to do right by each other and who want to play hard for each other and you can sense that right away,” said Green.
