Nick Session INT With 2 Seconds Left Seals Upset For East Over Herriman

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – East’s Nick Session intercepted Herriman quarterback Eli James with two seconds left in the game to seal the Leopards upset.
The East Leopards came into the game ranked #12 in the state while the Herriman Mustangs were second in Utah.
The game-sealing pick gave the Leopards a 13-10 home victory.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Mustangs took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Leopards answered back with an 8-yard touchdown run from Iversyn Tapusoa with 3:48 left in the third quarter.
Herriman regained the lead with 9:27 left in the game on a 3-yard TD pass from Eli James to Braxton Savage.
East scored the go-ahead score with 4:35 left in the fourth quarter on a Sione Angilau 29-yard TD run.
The Leopards moved to 5-3 with the win. Herriman fell to 6-2 with the loss.
Region 1
Davis 10 at Weber 35
Weber’s Kohl Hogan ran for five touchdowns in the Warriors win over the Davis Darts. After the Darts took a 10-7 lead with 3:42 left in the first half, the Warriors scored 28 unanswered points to get a 35-10 win. David Spjut had a 98-yart punt return for a Davis TD in the loss.
Fremont 34 at Layton 23
Fremont scored 20 fourth-quarter points to get the road victory over the Layton Lancers. Fremont was led by receiving touchdowns from Brayden Clark and Jayce Storey. Lancers’ QB Tyler Reid had a touchdown in the loss.

Northridge 13 at Syracuse 41
The Syracuse Titans score a touchdown in each quarter of Friday night’s game against Northridge on their way to a 41-13 win. Titans’ QB Bridger Hamblin had three passing touchdowns and one rushing TD in the win. Northridge’s Colby Browning had two touchdowns in the Knights’ defeat.
Roy 52 at Clearfield 0
The Roy Royals went on the road to Clearfield and carried a 42-0 halftime lead into the second half to shutout the Falcons 52-0. Roy QB Jaxson Dart had four passing touchdowns in the blowout. The Royals had rushing touchdowns from Dillan Thoms, Izzy Gordon, and Parker Kingston in the win.

Hunter 48 at Taylorsville 7
After Taylorsville scored a touchdown with 2:33 left in the first quarter, Hunter railed off 34 straight points to get a 48-7 blowout victory over the Warriors. Hunter had rushing scores from DaiSean Cash, Saia Lomu, and Ofa Lokotui. Taylorsville QB Hamani Wolfgramm had a touchdown in the loss.
Kearns 42 at Granger 7
Kearns scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters of the game to get a 42-7 win over Granger. Granger scored a TD with 1:31 left in the game on a Dion Fue 22-yard run to avoid the shutout. Kearns had rushing touchdowns from Naki Leha and Isaiah Afatasi in the win.

West Jordan 34 at Cyprus 14
After Cyprus took a 7-0 lead with 7:53 left in the first quarter, the West Jordan Jaguars scored 34 unanswered points in their 34-14 win. Jaguars’ QB Boston Farmer had three passing touchdowns and one rushing score in the victory. Cyprus had a rushing TD from Jhdhan Lester in the loss.
Region 3
Bingham 34 at Riverton 13
Riverton opened the game with a 3-yard touchdown from Seth Davis to take a 7-0 lead but it was all Bingham Miners after than. The Miners scored 34 straight points on their way to a 34-13 win. Bingham had touchdowns from Tyson Loder, Preston Larson, and Mason Christensen in the victory.
Jordan 35 at Copper Hills 17
Copper Hills scored 14 straight points in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough to come back on Friday night against the Jordan Beetdiggers. The Beetdiggers had receiving touchdowns from Kale Wakley and Misi Bloomfield in the win. Copper Hills QB Cody Lazenby had one passing TD in the loss.

Corner Canyon 48 at Westlake 7
The Corner Canyon Chargers scored 48 first half points in their blowout over the Westlake Thunder on Friday evening. Chargers’ QB Cole Hagen had two passing touchdowns and two rushing scores in the win. Westlake’s Jett Vance had a score for the Thunder in the loss.

The American Fork Cavemen scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to get a 38-26 win over the Pleasant Grove Vikings on Friday. American Fork QB Maddux Madsen threw four touchdown passes in the victory. Vikings’ Caleb Campbell had two passing touchdowns and one rushing score in the defeat.
