RSL Players To Leave On International Duties Following Final Regular Season Game

SANDY, Utah – Five Real Salt Lake players have been called to their respective national teams following the final road test against Vancouver Whitecaps.
Corey Baird (U.S.), Sam Johnson (Liberia), Douglas Martinez (Honduras), Albert Rusnak (Slovakia) and Jefferson Savarino (Venezuela) will leave the club immediately following the final regular-season game against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
In a press release, RSL announced, “all the players are scheduled to join their teams following RSL’s Decision Day match on the road against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Sunday and return prior to the club’s first match in the 2019 Audi MLS Cup Playoff match.”
The playoff schedule is yet to be solidified and RSL still have a chance of making the top four, which would give them a home elimination final. Although their destiny is not in their own hands – LA Galaxy go on the road and take on the Houston Dynamo, if the Dynamo can get a result (either a win or a draw) against the Galaxy and RSL beat the Whitecaps then RSL would finish in the top four.
For club and country 👏
